Mounting RowMotion with iDry Cases and DualLock
Perfect Mounting Solution
We have experimented with a lot of different mounting options so far and have finally arrived at what we think is a perfect solution for those of you that want to use RowMotion in their daily training. For RowMotion to work perfectly, we need a secure mounting that attaches your iPhone to the boat as direct as possible. To get best results the iPhone needs to remain in place and should not move during the exercise.
With these restrictions in mind we wanted to use a hard cover case. The iDry iPhone Case Series fits this bill perfectly. They are absolutely waterproof (trust us, wouldnt’ve been the first time we sunk iPhones in the bathtub) and the iPhone can be easily removed with a robust twist and lock mechanism. The cases are available for iPhone 3/3GS and iPhone 4. Because they have different dimensions, an appropriate case type is required for the device you want to use with RowMotion.
Dead Simple Mounting
To attach the iDry Case to the boat we wanted to take advantage of the fact that many people already have a StrokeCoach or SpeedCoach T-Bracket mount that is perfect for mounting their existing stroke watch. Our method is simple:
Simply flip the T-Bracket so that the side without plastic is facing you, put two small strips of 3M DualLock (a synthetic velcro-strap) on the bracket and on the iDry case. Done.

Doesn’t take more than a minute. Oh, and make sure to place the 3M tape correctly before sticking it. Without big effort, there’s no way you will peel this stuff off :-)-

Here you can see some details of this mounting options. The iDry cases come bundled with a cord so you can tie the case to your boat. In the unlikely event that the case will loosen from the mounting after keel over, you can rest assured your iPhone won’t sink.

One of the very cool things about this mounting is that it’s so versatile. You can easily swap your iPhone between different boats. But the case can also be left in the boat and you can simply remove your iPhone from it.
Material
All you need can be easily ordered on Amazon or eBay and shipped worldwide. Shipping, unfortunately, is usually more expensive than the goods themselves. The 3M DualLock is very difficult to get in small quantities too (you need 4 strips at approximately 3cm).
